"Ki He Kah Stah Tsa"

Maria Tallchief was America’s first major Native American prima ballerina. The prayer drum piece is called, “Ki He Kah Stah Tsa”, which is her Osage name. The image represents her extraordinary grace and spirit. The 12’ radius drum is deer hide and the medium is gouache and ink.
